Father, Son, Husband, Brother, Friend, Filmmaker, Writer, Poet, Activist, Thinker, Yogi, Entrepreneur, Believer, Hip Hop Head, B-Boy, Athlete, Geek, Artist, Human, Student and Teacher..... looking to start dialogues, manifest change and connect with people across the globe.... get at me... peace. I was born June 16, 1971... same day as Tupac Shakur.... born in NYC, moved to LA when I was still a kid but have been bi-coastal my whole life, back and forth... was always into sports, music, dance and art... seeker of knowledge wherever and from whomever I can find it.... Got introduced to Hip Hop in the early 80's and started to b-boy in the 6th grade... Here's me in 1983... Got serious about sports in high school and became an all league safety in a league that included players that went on to play in the NFL... Curtis Conway, Glynn Milburn and others... I'm gonna post some more videos here of those days!!!! I was extremely inspired by many things throughout my life but some of the Hip Hop groups/people that most inspired me were Rock Steady Crew, New York City Breakers, Unique Dominoes, Motor City Crew, Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash, Mele Mel, Break Beats, RUN DMC, Beastie Boys, EPMD, Eric B and Rakim, Public Enemy, 3rd Bass, NWA, Ice Cube, The D.O.C., KRS-One, Tribe Called Quest, TuPac, Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons... there are more and I probably left some out but I'm trying to give you a feel of the Hip Hop I was raised on.... I moved to Jerusalem and lived there for a year and a half on a spiritual journey to find out more about myself as a human being... I owe my curiosity to Hip Hop as Hip Hop always has stressed knowledge of self... I returned to NYC and stayed there for a year until I moved back to LA and began making a documentary that was born out of my desire to educate the younger generation of a time when Hip Hop was about more than just selling records and talking about how hard you were... hence was born The Freshest Kids, a history of the b-boy... Over 6 years in the making, the film speaks for itself and I hope many of you have had a chance to see it and if not, why the F*(k not?!?!? hahaha... I'm gonna add more later.... need to get some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... Peace!
